Callguard was launched directly after the new B-BBEE codes of good practice were released on 9 February 2007 and as such has ensured that all aspects of the Code are worked into the business going forward. This includes amongst others ownership, employment equity, skills development, preferential procurement, enterprise development and socio-economic development.

Callguard acknowledges that the single biggest investment is in its people. In commitment to this statement 26% of the business is owned by The Callguard Staff Trust without any debt. The Trust was set up for people of colour employed by Callguard and is instrumental in generating an environment of ownership amongst the staff. The ownership also equates to a 14th (fourteenth) cheque when the company declares a dividend. This structure ensures that Callguard retains and attracts the best Security Officers in the market.

The criteria to become eligible are simple. Security Officers need to be in the services of Callguard for 6 months and still in the employment of the company at the time of pay out. The 26% declared dividend is divided equally amongst eligible staff.

Callguard has through agreement with its staff decided to pay statutory bonuses in December and declared dividends midyear enabling each Security Officer to receive a dividend or bonus every 6 months.

Callguard Security Services (Pty) Ltd are currently a level 3 B-BBEE Contributor with a recognition level R 1.10 and a category B (100% recognition) Enterprise Development Beneficiary.
